Peace & Justice

The purpose of the Peace and Justice committee is to stimulate the parish's awareness of human social needs and to develop effective responses to these needs.

The Committee's threefold task is to:
     1) Educate themselves and the parish community through diagolue and critical Christian reflection on the
         social mission of the church.
     2) Promote the church's social mission by:
         a) working for and calling the parish to work for structural and systemic changes in the economic, social
              and political order that promote the values of the reign on God.
         b) calling forth the resources of the parish community to meet the needs of the world community, e.g.,
              food collections, Operation Rice Bowl, Campaign for Human Development.
         c) empowering oppressed people by promoting self-help projects.
     3) Network with other groups in the parish and community.
