Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
R.C.I.A.
This Rite is a conversion process by which persons are instructed
in the Roman Catholic Faith and inserted into the community
of Faith. The organization is educational, litugical and social.
It provides information on the Faith and a supportive group
background to those who are inquiring into the Catholic Faith.
This program is available to persons from a non-religious
or non-Catholic background, Roman Catholics who have not received
First Penance, First Communion or Confirmation, and Catholics
who have been away from the practice of the Faith. Volunteers
are needed for child-care and babysitting during the sessions.
Also needed are hospitality servers and sponsors. Sponsors
are persons who are interested in witnessing the lived faith
and supporting candidates during the process. A commitment
of generally one year begining in August is needed to assist
the candidates through the one year journey to the Sacraments.
Interested candidates are encouraged to call the rectory.
Deacon Bill Bevan and Roberta Lemke head our program here
at St. Paul's.
